Walking & Movement Retraining

Gait Training

Gait training is a specialized form of physical therapy focused on improving how a person walks.

Gait Training
Gait training addresses walking patterns thrown off by pain, surgery, or generalized weakness, common after joint replacement, fractures, or ongoing orthopedic pain. We identify what's driving the compensation and retrain a more natural, efficient stride.

What this treats

  • Pain-avoidance ('antalgic') gait correction
  • Post-surgical gait retraining (joint replacement, fracture recovery)
  • Balance and coordination improvement
  • Assistive device training (cane, walker, etc.)
